Choosing the right katana

When buying a katana sword there are a few things you should ask yourself: whether you want the sword just for decorative purposes, or do you instead want a training sword, or battle ready sharp katana.

It is recommended that you buy a battle ready sword rather than a simple, usually stainless steel decorative sword. Although stainless steel is fine when it comes to knives or other blades, it is far better if your katana sword is made of folded steel or carbon forged steel.
You should also check if your battle ready sword is a full tang sword, which means that the entire handle of the sword is the tang and the handle scales are attached to the sides. A full tang sword is much more sturdy and more durable. And, you can always use a battle-ready sword as a decorative sword also.

If price is not an issue, you might want to consider buying an authentic or unique katana sword. It will be worth it. But note that such quality japanese swords require some care and maintenance.

Whether you choose a quality sword or just a wall-hanger, it will certainly be a great decoration to your home of office.
