Blade: The blade of the sword is hand crafted and constructed of carbon steel with a hamon (Habuchi, The transition zone from soft to hard steel) along the edge of the blade. The sword comes razor sharp and features a visible kissake on the tip of the blade. Yokote: Ridge Line dividing kissaki from the rest of the blade. Boshi: The hadened edge (Yakiba) as it extends past the yokote into the kissaki. Scabbard: The scabbard of the sword is wooden with a high gloss black lacquer finish. Wrapped around the upper half of the scabbard is a black cotton sageo. The scabbard throat is blackened steel. Guard: The guard of the sword begins with a bronze blade collar (Habaki). The actual guard is blackened steel in the double ring design, the exact same design as the great Musashi. Each side of the guard is secured by a bronze spacer (Seppa), this fitting is only found on hand crafted swords. Handle: The sword is full tang and secured by two wooden pins in the handle of the sword. Wrapped over the tang of the sword is imitation ray held in place by two steel pins (Menuki) shaped like dragons. Over the ray skin is a black cotton wrap for the best in comfort and grip. The pommel of the sword is a simple blackened steel end cap. |

The blade of this oriental sword has been hand forged undergoing a rigorous 6 stage process including quenching and rough forging. The sword is in a traditional style with a beautifully detailed golden guard, perfect balance, and comes battle ready. Attributes of the Weapon: Blade: The steel of the blade is hand forged and went through a six stage process of forging. It was created in the ancient method used for centuries before but with a bloodline along the top of the blade. The blade of the sword is sharp enough to cut right an edge of paper and is full tang. The visible hamon is found along the edge of the blade with a blood line along the top of the blade. The blade is full tang and features a defined yokote and kissake. Scabbard: The scabbard of the sword is wooden with a black semi gloss finish. Wrapped around the upper half of the sheath is a black sage-o with a golden kurigata. Guard (Tsuba): The tsuba of the sword is a square of solid steel with golden warriors on horse back fighting in relief. The guard begins with a black steel blade collar over a golden fitting. The guard ends with a blackened steel fitting securing the guard to the handle. Handle: The handle is covered with imitation ray skin with a black cloth wrap. Product Description
This is a replication of the Katana of one of five generals that served Hideyoshi Toyotomi. This period was one of the most famous in Japanese history, and created some of the greatest heros of Samurai history. It was shortly after the death of Toyotomi that the Tokugawa period of Japan was established. This sword has been made with precise detail to the original sword, and true to its original it has been made in the ancient method. The sword has been hand forged and is full tang with beautiful brass fittings and razor sharp blade. Attributes of the Weapon: Sword Length: 42.25 Blade Length: 28.5 Handle Length: 10.5 Blade Width: 3.15 Blade Thickness: .27 Tsuba Diameter: 3.15 Blade: The blade of the sword was created in the old six step process of forging. The hamon of the blade was heated with clay applied for an authentic temper line. A bloodline has been added to the ridge of the blade for better balance. The yokote is well defined above the boshi and the kissake is razor sharp. The sword has perfect balance and is full tang. The blade comes battle ready and razor sharp. Scabbard: The scabbard of the sword is wooden with a glossy black finish. The sageo is black cotton with a golden kurigata. Tsuba: The tsuba is round in the Maru Gata style with three circular cut outs. Three orchids are on each point of the design with vines trailing down to the rim of the guard. The tsuba begins with a golden blade collar over a spacer and ends with another golden spacer and steel fitting. The tsuba is constructed from aged brass. Handle: The handle of the sword is imitation shark skin with a black cotton wrap. There are two wooden pins holding the handle to the tang. Two golden dragons, one on each side, act as the Menuki. The pommel of the sword is brass with the same design as the guard. |
